Electrochemical Operando Cell
EC-TXAS-VI

Introduction:

Electrochemical operando Cell (EC-TXAS-VI) is a unique operando cell for synchrotron radiation X-ray absorption spectroscopy characterization in the electrochemical field. This type of operando cell is optimized on the EC-TXAS-V model cell. This type cell have two advantages: 1. it is suitable for both fluorescence and transmission modes of XAFS characterization; 2. The thickness of the liquid can be adjusted properly. This is very important for different groups’ demand.

Main features:

  1. The operando cell is a customized electrochemical cell, which can be applied into two detect modes (fluorescence and transmission mode) for X-ray absorption spectrum characterization.

  2. The operando cell can collect the operando XAFS data during the electrochemical reaction.

  3. The operando cell can be applied in the both Lytle and solid-state detector even in the fluorescence mode.

  4. The operando cell can be divided into two parts, and an ion-exchange membrane can be added between them to realize the function of H-type cell.

  5. Inlet and outlet valves are installed in the two pools to meet the requirements of different atmospheric conditions and tightness of electrochemical reactions.

  6. The whole installation of the cell is simple and fast, and the cleaning of each component is convenient.

  7. The liquid thickness can be adjusted to meet different experimental requirements.

  8. Sample size can be adjusted (> φ10mm) for easy disassembly.

  9. The kinds and sites of electrodes, including the reference electrode and the counter electrode, can be replaced depending on the users’ demand. The working electrode is customized carbon electrode.

  10. Optical window can be made of various materials: Kapton film, high purity beryllium window and organic window.

  11. Fluorescence mode window size: φ15 mm; 45 degree angle with X-ray incident light.

Optional accessories: Kapton film, high purity beryllium window, other types of optical windows.
